Since 1991, we are offering language courses for people with a migration background at our IB Language Institute. Our premises are located in the northern part of Rostock. We teach the participants in the areas of vocabulary, grammar and the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany in various modules. Our courses are always ending with a political test or an exam.
Since 2005, we are organizing with other course providers in Rostock for the efficient planning and implementation of language courses. In addition, we are active in the communal network (working group for language promotion) and in the Alliance for Education of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock.

We offer language courses at levels A1, A2 and B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

In addition, female migrants can get to know their first experience in language, culture, and society in our MiA courses (Migrants in Everyday Life) funded by the BAMF.

Integration Courses in Rostock: Your path to successful integration
Our integration courses, funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, offers 700 teaching units and comprehensive support for language acquisition up to level B1, the independent management of everyday life in Germany and the promotion of intercultural understanding. We are aiming at migrants with permanent residence permits, ethnic German resettlers, EU citizens who live in Germany and self-payers. Exemption from the cost contribution can be applied for under certain conditions, and co-payers have the option of reimbursing costs.

MiA-course at Language Institute Rostock
Courses for female migrants in Rostock
Our exclusive MiA classes provide women with a supportive community where they empower each other, learn new skills, and explore different topics. These courses span 34 hours and include activities such as cooking, sewing, and trips. It's free to join, and women can take up to three consecutive courses. The goal is to promote empowerment, reflection on the migration biography, social contacts, self-efficacy, further education and communication in German. The course is aimed at women aged 16 and over without a school or vocational qualification in Germnay, who meet certain criteria. It is not necessary to submit an application.

Literacy Courses: Your path to writing and integration
Our literacy courses, funded by the Federal Ministry for Migration and Refugees, has 900 teaching units, divided into basic, advanced, special and orientation courses. We teach Latin script, reading and writing, support language acquisition up to level B1 and promote integration in Germany. Our courses are aimed at permanent residents, ethnic German resettlers and EU citizens.
