Welcome to the literacy Course at the Rostock Language Institute!

A warm welcome to the Rostock Language Institute! We are not only an educational center but also secure partner on your way to improved reading and writing skills as well as successful integration into society. Our aim is to develop your abilities and increase your independence.

Our literacy program is aimed at primary illiterates and second language learners of all ages and nationalities who struggle with reading and writing or want to strengthen their basic skills. It is aslo for people whose literacy skills are not enough for a general integration course. We understand the importance of literecy as an aspect of personal growth, professional development and societal integration.

Our Course Content and Structure:

In our literacy courses we introduce skills such as learning letters and groups of letters, developing and reinforcing synthesis and analysis skills, cultivating learning strategies and techniques, and methods of work. Then, various linguistic and written skills are combined, and vocabulary is systematically built. We focus on the following topics:

Language Skills:

Improving German language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. We pay attention on engaging your senses alternately to provide you with a varied and holistic teaching and learning experience.

Everyday Culture:

Transmitting knowledge about German customs, traditions and daily life habits.

History and Politics:

Insight into German history and political structures to foster an understanding of society.

Social Life:

Information on social norms, etiquette and living together in German society.
